Dances

Yosakoi teams can be seen performing two different kinds of dances. First of all there are the team performances – Original performances created by or for the teams, usually on a yearly basis. These dances are created based on a concept decided upon by the team, and they are usually presented as the team’s main performance at festivals and similiar events.

There are also Sô-odori or “common dances”, i.e. dances that all teams dance together. These often vary from region to region and many Japanese festivals have their own Sô-odori which is danced mainly at that festival. Some of the Sô-odori that Zyka has performed can be found below.
